I have been quilting for a few decades now. I will never forget how impactful these two books were in terms up unleashing creativity and forging my own path (and doing so with confidence).
I am so saddened to hear of Gwen Marston’s very recent passing. You may learn about Gwen here (her interview starts around the 40:00 mark).
And then there was this video…which not only inspired me tremendously, but also made a world of difference in our daughters lives.
I am currently reading this wonderful book by Kristin Nicholas and I am greatly inspired in terms of knitting and crocheting. I’ve been sketching so many ideas of my own since beginning this book.
And then we come to this book…which not only encourages me and gives me hope, but also fills my life with color…colorful fruits and vegetables (I eat a salad everyday that includes as much color as possible…so I call it my “all the colors salad”…our younger daughter calls it the “everything I pick out of my salad” salad…she is a lettuce only kind of salad girl). I will be sharing a one year anniversary post next month about the difference this book has made in my health and longevity.
Embrace color…color through art, needlework, music, food, poetry, literature…the list goes on…what a difference it makes in our lives.

❤ She was amazing. Thank you so much. I hope to share more about her. I went through all of my yarn leftovers last night and thought, "What would Gwen Marston do with these?" I enjoy catching up on your blog so much…love those dandelion prints/embroidery!
